I am currently working on a personal project which has spanned several years, that project being a graphic illustrated retelling of Rapunzel in a series of images depicting the Grimm's story in the way it was originally meant to be, dark and gritty with no room for singing princesses. The comic strip of Rapunzel has already started and the illustrations are well on their way! Now I am just hurting for inspiration and stock references.

What, you ask, is different about this tale of Rapunzel? She is no sweet innocent, for she longs for the world, while the Prince is no perfect rescuer. The original telling of Rapunzel culminates in her exile from the tower, not because she was simply cast out, but because she became pregnant with twins. Blinding, betrayal, and bloody vengeance abound in this sordid retelling.

The Challenge? I'd love to see some of you talented stockers who watch this journal take on this theme! Not only would it be fun, but it'd be a great way to help me out with a project I'm currently struggling with.

STOCK/ART SUGGESTIONS:
* A bound Rapunzel trapped and wrapped in her own hair
* The Prince seducing an innocent Rapunzel
* The outcast Rapunzel with shorn locks crying and abandoned in the forest
* The Prince surmounting the tower surrounded by briar roses
* The blinded Prince bleeding tears of blood and feeling his way through a forest
* Rapunzel and the Prince reunited while she cries tears into his injured eyes
* The witch Gothel wielding her scissors to sheer Rapunzel's hair

I love odd perspective as well so feel free to experiment with all sorts of angles! I do hope you guys will participate. I am particularly aching for couples stock. This challenge is mainly for stock, but if you feel inspired to create art, by all means go where the flow leads you!

REWARDS?
I'm really aching for images (particularly those with couples that I can't take myself) so if you guys help me out with this, how about something along the lines of original art/sketches, access to some of the exclusive stock I've got coming up, or perhaps even an exclusive stock trade in return for your services (as in I'd shoot a stock series JUST for you)?

DEADLINES?
This is an ongoing project with no deadline. Create, create, and create! We shall feed creatively off one another.
